Best Blade and Sorcery Mods

Blade & Sorcery is one of the most popular Steam VR games.

Blade & Sorcery is a medieval/fantasy game created from the ground up for virtual reality headsets such as the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. In hand-to-hand combat, you employ VR mobility to instinctively take on your opponents.

The video game is a sandbox by design, and it’s one of the few combat games out there with complete VR controls. Not only that, but the game also has physics-based combat dynamics that allow you to play it in almost any way you want.

As a result of all of this, Blade & Sorcery is the third most modded VR game of all time, trailing only Minecraft and Skyrim. It has a thriving community of modders who strive to provide gamers with anything they could want.

Megapacks, which include multiple weapons, maps, aesthetic & physics adjustments based on a central theme, and individual mods, which attempt to add only one item, map, or feature, are the most common mods for the game. We’ve labeled which are which (when it’s not painfully obvious), so you know what you’re getting yourself into right away.

Mods can hugely enhance the game. If you want to experience a VR medieval fantasy, for example, you’ll need to learn how to install mods. If you get stuck with your.json or’streamingassets,’ there are plenty of tutorials on YouTube to help you out.

The Outer Rim (Megapack)

In Blade & Sorcery, there are many Star Wars Mods, but none are more comprehensive than The Outer Rim.

The Outer Rim was created by Kingo64 to be a “total conversion” mod, complete with custom maps, clothing, AI, and, most significantly, in-game lightsabers and blasters. Even better, the mod takes advantage of the vanilla game’s sandbox nature: instead of describing the lightsabers and blasters as “a fun little experiment on self-discovery,” the FAQ describes it as “a fun little experiment on self-discovery.”

The maps already released include the iconic Mos Eisley location on Tatooine, Naboo, Felucia, and the Kamino cloning facility. The Death Star, Kashyyyk, Mustafar, and the Tantive IV are just a few examples.

Marvel Assembled (Megapack)

DukeGoliath’s Marvel Assembled Megapack contains a massive Marvel Universe melee and ranged weaponry. It’s the best MCU-themed Blade & Sorcery expansion out there, in my opinion, and well worth a look.

The mod includes Deadpool, Captain America, Wolverine, and Doctor Strange gear. Getting your hands on Adamantium Claws, Cap’s Shield, Blade’s Swords, Gambit’s Staff, or Starlord’s Quad Blasters is an absolute blast.

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to dress up as Iron Man Mark I, II, III, or LXXXV, as Tony Stark’s gear has yet to be added. Hopefully, it won’t be long before you’re using repulsors as well.

Witchcraft and Wizardry

The three franchise megapacks I’ve included on this list are rounded out by a throwback and a voyage on the Hogwarts Express.

Witchcraft and Wizardry by Piepop101 is a complete Harry Potter conversion mod. It includes weapons such as the basic Wand, which can cast six spells, and the Elder Wand, which can cast a lot more. The Golden Snitch, which can be used as a flying grenade, and the Sword of Gryffindor are also included. The Nimbus 2000 and the Transylvanian Barb are also included in the mod, allowing you to fly around.

Not only that, but the megapack also includes custom maps. Among these are the Quidditch Field and Diagon Alley (or is it “diagonally”? ), as well as custom AI waves to battle in them.

Medieval Megapack

Sushin’s Medieval Weapons Megapack adds over a hundred realistic weapons from the Middle Ages to the game, all of which can be spawned by NPCs.

With custom damage properties and a large variety, these weapons are described as “vanilla lore-friendly” and “generally historically accurate.” “Weapons you desire, and weapons you didn’t know you wanted,” the mod boasts, “all meticulously built with as much detail as possible.”

Sushin’s mod may be worth a look if you’re interested in anything from jousting pikes and frying pans to Viking longswords.

Fantasy Megapack

Sushin, on the other hand, was still working on it. They’ve also collaborated with Davi3684 to produce a weapons megapack that includes over ninety magic and fantasy weapons, some of which have “gameplay changing” properties.

This mod pack contains a huge variety of fantasy weapons, ranging from “ordinary” to “outrageous,” so it’s well worth checking out just for that. However, some of these weapons are imbued with magic, emitting everything from flames to dark energy, particularly impressive.

Finally, the mod includes waves of NPCs who can wield these fantastical weapons, just like the majority of megapacks we’ve covered.

Katana Megapack

Silk’s Katana Megapack is a collection of weapons mods, all of which are historically-inspired Japanese swords.

You’ll recognize Tanto, Dojuigiri, Shirasaya, Koto, and Mokko Katana if you know anything about Katana or Japanese military history. Each of these weapons performs admirably, especially after a recent improvement update, and they also look fantastic.

Now let your inner Ninja shine. You’re welcome, by the way.

Dismemberment

So, you’re a big fan of Blade & Sorcery, but there’s one problem: you can’t seem to figure out how to dismember your opponents consistently. Dismemberment is notoriously difficult in the vanilla game, requiring a heavy weapon and the ability to do three things perfectly and in sync: swing hard enough, hit the right point on the joint, and come in at the exact right angle.

That’s where the Dismemberment feature mod by Piepop101 comes in. The mod makes dismembering your enemies much easier, effectively removing the need for pinpoint accuracy. It also comes with three endless no-armor waves so you can test it out.

Slugga’s Combat Overhaul

Many Blade & Sorcery modders intend to do one thing or another, but Slugga’s Combat Overhaul is a little different. Slugga, on the other hand, includes a large number of tweaks and adjustments to boost the realism and immersion factor “to 11.”

Among the modifications are a revamped damage system, a new ragdoll physics system, improved knockouts, and a total reworking of in-game archery, which now includes completely dynamic arrow damage. These are few of the changes, but it’s clear that this is the mod to use if you simply want to add some variety to the game based on the release notes.

Infinity Gauntlet

I could have included more mods, but I decided not to. After all, the toughest decisions necessitate the most powerful willpower. But I couldn’t leave out Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet mode, which turns you into the Mad Titan himself.

The mod includes abilities for each of the Gauntlet’s five-six stones: Space, Reality, Soul, Time, and Mind, as well as abilities for both triggers. Among them include enlarging your foes, “discombobulation,” revival, and time freeze. And once you’ve harnessed the power of all six stones, all you have to do is snap your fingers, and the arena will be perfectly balanced… as it should be.

Because this is one of the few mods that engages in “gauntlet,” it may appear to be a little… game-breaking, perhaps? Nonetheless, it’s a lot of fun to mess around with – after all, Blade & Sorcery is a sandbox.

4K Lightsaber Pack

LeoVanceMusic hopes to grow this project to the level of The Outer Rim, but for now, his contribution is one of the most impressive Lightsaber mods available.

The new update includes tens of well-known lightsabers from the Star Wars history and world, including Kylo Ren’s, Luke Skywalker’s, Master Yoda’s, and, yes, Darth Maul’s renowned double-sided sabre. However, the mod also includes new features and functionality, such as a dynamic imbue mesh that disappears when the blade is retracted but retains the imbuement when released.

Frequently asked Questions

What is Blade and Sorcery VR?

Answer: Blade and Sorcery is a virtual reality-only medieval fantasy simulation sandbox game developed and published by WarpFrog. Full physics simulation drives combat and environmental interactions. In 2018, the game was released in early access.

The player begins Blade and Sorcery by creating a character and customizing their appearance and attire. After that, the character is dropped into a house where they can try out weapons and choose an arena. Once inside, the player can choose what they want to fight against, selecting from various difficulties and special modes.

Sandbox mode is the primary gameplay mode, with a “Progression mode” coming with the full release. The player can fight waves of enemies in arena-style maps, spawn various weapons, and access mods and a dev mode in a sandbox (cheats). The player can choose the wave’s difficulty when spawning enemies, which affects things like the enemy’s armor class and the number of enemies that spawn. Enemies spawn in waves, each attempting to kill the player with a different weapon.

Ranged, mage, and melee fighters are the three types of enemies. Melee fighters use axes, swords, mace users, and other melee weapons. Bows and arrows, are used by ranged enemies. Mages use lightning and fireballs to attack. The player can use thrown objects such as weapons or physics objects to hit enemies or use weapons directly to hit them. They can also electrocute or burn their foes with magic. Depending on whether they are hit or stabbed by a weapon, each warrior can take a certain number of hits. Enemies can also be dismembered by targeting specific parts of their bodies, such as the neck or joints.
